"-The Downtown of Tomorrow is Evolving Today."

Welcome to McComb Main Street Association!

Colonel Henry Simpson McComb, President of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, established our city in 1872 as a manufacturing facility for boxcars and other rolling stock. By 1877 McComb had become a transportation center. During World War II, over 2000 people were employed in these shops. After the war the railroad began scaling back its operations in McComb.

The appearance of Interstate 55 and changing shopping habits have changed the face of Downtown McComb over the past 40 years.

Many beautiful historic buildings are still standing and in use today, but McComb needs YOU for revitalization!
